1.     Define the Constitution…..in your own words in a PARAGRAPH (3-5 sentences)
The constitution of the us is the main law of the USA. The first 3 articles of the constitution make the rules and the separate powers of the three branches of the federal government. The constitution was made on september 17, 1787.
2.      How would your life be without the constitution ?  
I would think it would be very hard without any rules, also things are already hard enough unless we all just keep things simple.

3.     Define the following words:

Ratification-To approve and give formal sanction to:confirm

Faction- a group or clique within a larger group, party, government, organization, or the like:

 Federalism-is a political concept in which a group of members are bound together by covenant with a governing representative head.

Federalist/ Anti federalist -an advocate of federalism/One of party opposed to a federate government

Compromise-a settlement of differences by mutual concessions; an agreement reached by adjustment of conflicting or opposing claims, principles, etc., by reciprocal modification of demands.

The Great Compromise (Connecticut Compromise)-is an emendation of the draft of the U.S. Constitution proposed during the Continental Congress of 1787.


Checks and Balances-limits imposed on all branches of a government by vesting in each branch the right to amend or void those acts of another that fall within its purview.

Democratic Republic-a form of government embodying democratic principles and where a monarch is not the head of state


Delegated Powers of the Federal Government-has the right to the following: to print money (bills and coins), declare war on other countries, establish an army and navy, enter into treaties with foreign governments, regulate trade between states and international trade, establish post offices and issue the price of postage, and make laws seen as necessary to enforce the Constitution.
Reserved Powers of the State Governments-A power set aside by the Constitution for the states or for the people.
Separation of Powers-The separation of powers, is a model for the governance of both democratic & federative states

Civil Liberties-one's freedom to exercise one's rights as guaranteed under the laws of the country.
